When it comes to exploring a new city, sometimes it's the hidden gems that offer the most unique and memorable experiences. Omaha, Nebraska, may not be on the top of everyone's travel list, but this vibrant city has a lot to offer, some well known and others beyond its well-known attractions. In this blog post, we will take a closer look at some of areas in Omaha and the surrounding areas worth checking out.

One of my FAVORITE neighborhoods for restaurants and shops is the Blackstone District.  From pizza, the Mexican, or breakfast at the Early Bird, you will find something here to eat. This is also home to Coneflower, an absolute MUST ice cream place, that was once voted by Yelp as best ice cream place in the nation (Try the Butter Brickle).

If you're in the mood for some delicious Mexican food, head over to South Omaha. This area is home to a vibrant Hispanic community and boasts authentic taquerias and markets where you can find everything from freshly made tortillas to mouthwatering tacos. Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and savor the flavors of Mexico right here in Omaha.

For those seeking a more laid-back atmosphere, visit the Old Market District. This historic area is filled with cobblestone streets, art galleries, and charming boutiques. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon browsing through unique shops or grab a cup of coffee at one of the cozy cafes. In the evening, the Old Market comes alive with live music, theater performances, and a bustling nightlife.
